Del-One Celebrates Members Through Service

delOn Friday, September 6 Del-One Federal Credit Union hosted their Annual Members Appreciation Day offering fun activities and an opportunity for members to save with new loan and certificate options. Celebrating current members and encouraging new members to join, the event included free document shredding, grab for cash promotions, refreshments and games.

A not-for-profit organization, Del-One Federal Credit Union serves their members in a unique fashion. Income earned above the cost of operations may be returned to the members in the form of dividends, low interest rates on money borrowed, or invested in additional products or services.

“Since we are a member-owned and a not-for-profit organization we can offer lower interest rates and work with our members on an individual level,” commented Brandy Buzzuto,Del-One Business Development Representative.

In addition to being a unique business for their members, Del-One also is unique in the way they reach out to the communities in which they serve. The Del-One Foundation is a non-profit corporation that was formed to raise funds for charitable purposes throughout Delaware.  The Foundation funds and sponsors various charities each year.  For 2013, the Del-One Foundation is supporting and participating in events for Autism Delaware, Down Syndrome Association of Delaware, Kay’s Kamp, Juvenile Diabetes Association of Delaware, Alzheimer’s Association of Delaware, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, and Caring Hearts Helping Hands.

During this year’s Members Appreciation Day, Del-One hosted a food drive for the Food Bank of Delaware. In an ongoing effort to end hunger in local communities, Del-One highlights services of the Food Bank through their annual holiday drive. In 2012 over 1,300 pounds of food was donated to the Food Bank through Del-One’s hunger campaign.

“Through this program we are bringing awareness to our members and our community as a whole,” commented Amy Resh, Director of Marketing at Del-One. “All donations small and large will help us reach our goal to stop hunger in our community.”

On Wednesday, September 11 the Del-One Foundation will host their 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament to support the several organization they support throughout the year. The event will be held at Jonathan’s Landing Golf Course in Magnolia with registration and buffet lunch beginning at 11am. For additional information individuals are encouraged to contact the Del-One Foundation at 302-672-1492.
