Attempted Rape and Unlawful Imprisonment

On September 7, 2013, the Milford Police Criminal Division arrested and charged Jalen Benson, 19yo of Harrington man, in connection with a sexual assault that occurred approx. 2:00 am on 09/07/13, in an isolated area of an apartment building at Silver Lake Apartments. According to police, detectives discovered that Benson approached the 22yo female victim in an isolated area of the building as he held the female against her will and sexually assaulted her. The female victim was finally able to flee from Benson after a long struggle. Just prior to Benson being charged in the incident, Benson responded back out to the apartment complex and attempted to do damage to the female victim’s property. Benson was charged with Attempted Rape 1st Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree, Offensive Touching, Harassment, Criminal Trespass 3rd, Attempted Criminal Mischief Under $1000 and a traffic offense. Benson was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $21,000 secured bond.
