Abbott’s Grill in Milford hosted their third annual Dogfish Head Throwdown on Thursday, October 24. The Chef Throwdown competition was held on their back patio for a unique spin on their famous wine tasting and pairing events. Chefs from Espuma Restaurant & Martini Bar, Eden Restaurant, Bonz Restaurant & Lounge and The Dogfish Brewpub competed head-to-head for the title of King Chef as they cooked up creative dishes and paired them with one of four fall beers from Dogfish Head. The winner of this year’s event was Chef Dennis Marcoux of Dogfish Head Brewpub.
This year’s money raised through the event went to help Abbott’s Mill Nature Center. Located along Abbott’s Pond just southwest of Milford, the Nature Center manages 313 acres of preserved land. This diverse nature preserve supports a variety of forested, field and wetland habitats and includes hiking trails, boardwalks and teaching stations that provide educational opportunities for all ages.
