1012620_440422999389788_1523038332_n** TRAFFIC ALERT ** Released from DELDOT – As part of the Route 1 and Route 30 (Wilkins Road/Cedar Neck Road) Overpass Project, the Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that Route 1 southbound will be closed on Wednesday, December 4 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, December 5 for the installation of concrete beams for the overpass. During the same timeframe, Route 1 northbound left lane will also be closed. In the event of inclement weather, the Route 1 southbound closure will be rescheduled for Thursday, December 5 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Friday, December 6.

Southbound traffic will be detoured at Route 36 to Business Route 1 to the new on ramp to Route 1 southbound.

On Thursday, December 5 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday, December 6, Route 1 northbound will be closed. Route 1 southbound left lane will also be closed. In the event of inclement weather the Route 1 northbound closure will take place on Friday, December 6 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 7.

Northbound traffic will be detoured at Johnson Road to Route 30 north onto Business Route 1 north, then right onto Route 36 east and access Route 1 northbound at Route 36.

Variable message boards are posted for motorists and detour signage will be posted.
