schBurglary 3rd Degree, Theft Under $1500 and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

On December 5, 2013 at 10:30 pm, the Milford Police responded to the area of NE 7th St. after receiving a report of a suspect breaking into vehicles. Upon arriving, police located the suspect on a nearby street and took him into custody. The suspect was identified as Steven D. Schaffer, 24yo of Milford. Police state that investigation revealed that Schaffer was walking through a resident’s yard and opened the resident’s vehicle door, removed property and fled on foot. Police state that the property was later recovered by Milford Police on Schaffer’s person along with two syringes & other illegal narcotic related items. Schaffer was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft Under $1500 and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Schaffer was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $4000 secured bond. This investigation in still ongoing.
