Holiday Stroll Well Attended Despite Weather

The weather could not dampen the holiday spirit as the community turned out in downtown Milford for the Sixth Annual Holiday Stroll on Friday, December 6. Although the outdoor events, such as horse-drawn carriage rides and musical presentations, were cancelled due to the threat of rain, all indoor events continued.

Those who braved the elements were able to sample exotic dipping sauces at Tax Chicks as they enjoyed the Lionel train display throughout the office. Guests could relax and enjoy Christmas instrumentals at the Delaware Music School, while Georgia House offered samples of their famous cream of crab soup.

“We had to get in the Christmas spirit, and this hit the spot,” said Darin Albright, who was enjoying his soup outside the downtown restaurant. The Delmarva Miniature Horse Club strolled through the town with the ponies, to the delight of children who were attending the event. The line to talk to Santa was also long throughout the evening.

Many enjoyed the gift of Irish gold from the dancing leprechaun outside Irish Rose, which recently opened in downtown, while others enjoyed Barbershop Quartet located inside the Mispillion Art Gallery.
