Suspect Accused Of Resisting Arrest

Screen Shot 2014-01-15 at 3.52.39 PMOn January 14, 2014 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to Academy Apartments in the 200 block of North Street to a report of loud persons near the laundry room of the apartment complex. Police state that upon arrival officers attempted to gain entry into the laundry room after hearing where the loud noises were coming from. As one officer attempted to open the door, Shaquel Bowe forced the door back closed to prevent the officer from entering. The officer eventually gained entry into the laundry room. According to police, during questioning, Mr. Bowe tried to push through the officers in what appears to be an attempt to flee the area. As officers attempted to stop Mr. Bowe from fleeing, police state that Bowe continued to struggle with them after being given commands to cease his behavior. Officers were able to eventually gain compliance and took Mr. Bowe into custody. A press release from Milford Police Department stated that both officers uniforms were damaged during this incident and one officer received a minor injury that did not require immediate medical attention. Mr. Bowe was arraigned at JP Court #7 in Dover, where bail was set at $8500.00 secured. Mr. Bowe was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution. Mr. Bowe is scheduled to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 01.24.2014 for a Preliminary Hearing.
