Screen Shot 2014-01-21 at 3.54.50 PMOn January 17 the Milford Police Criminal Division concluded a week long investigation with the arrest of a man and a woman for stealing money from a local business. Cheryl M. Blackwell, 50yo of Greenwood, and Jeffery N. Barnett Jr., 31 yo of Milford, were both arrested and charged with Theft $1500 or Greater, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Falsifying Business Records to Make or Cause False Entry. According to police, detectives discovered that both Blackwell and Barnett Jr. held management positions at Save A Lot grocery store and that during the months of November 2013 and December 2013, both Blackwell and Barnett Jr. turned in forged deposit slips for the store bank account on numerous occasions. Police state that both Blackwell and Barnett Jr. stole a total of over $22,000 from the business during the 2 month time period. Both were arraigned and released on $12,000 unsecured bond each.
