The Milford Police Department is asking the public’s help with identifying an attempted armed robbery suspect. The Milford Police Department is currently investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred on February at approximately 3:00 pm at the 84 Lumber store. Initial investigation revealed that the suspect, a black male, in his late teens to early twenties, 5’7 to 5’9, 150 lbs to 170, entered the store armed with a knife and a baseball bat. According to police, the suspect demanded money from the store employee, at which time he was advised by the employee that the register could not be opened without a purchase. The suspect then took store merchandise and provided his own money to the store employee to purchase the store merchandise. After a verbal dispute about the purchase, a brief struggle ensued between the store employee and the suspect; the store employee was able to take the baseball bat from the suspect but suffered a minor injury to the hand as a result. The suspect then fled the store on foot. The store employee refused medical treatment. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Dwight Young or Det. John Horsman at 302-422-8081 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or www. tipsubmit.com.
