On February 17, 2014 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 19yo Dover man in connection with a domestic dispute that occurred at a residence located at Mispillion Apartment Complex on February 16, 2014. Curtis Baines Jr was arrested and charged with Strangulation, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Offensive Touching. Police state that investigation revealed Baines Jr and the 19yo female victim were initially involved in a verbal dispute while in a room inside of the residence. According to police, Baines Jr. grabbed the female victim by her throat and began strangling her. Baines Jr. then struck the female victim several times in the head. The female victim attempted to flee the room but was pulled back into the room by her hair. This incident occurred while a 4 month old child was in the room with Baines Jr. and the victim. Baines Jr. fled the scene prior to Milford Police arrival. The 4 month old child was not injured during this incident. The female victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment. On February 17, 2014 Baines Jr. turned himself into the Milford Police, was arraigned and released on $4,100 unsecured bond. Baines Jr. now has an active capias for his arrest for failing to appear for the scheduled court appearance for this case. Baines Jr. is described as a black male, 6’1, 165, black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Milford and Dover areas.
