Staff Report

Pizza Palace hosted their Grand Reopening on Monday, February 24 at their Milford location at 556 S Dupont Blvd. Over the last several months owner Steve Akoglo has been creating a new image for the business, remodeling the inside of the building and retraining staff. Beginning its fourth year in business in Milford, Steve is looking forward to many more successful years serving the town.

In addition to owning Milford Pizza Palace, Akoglo is partner of restaurants in Georgetown, DE including Georgetown Family Restaurant and Georgetown Pizza Palace. His decision to expand to the Milford area three years ago came from the desire of his customers in Georgetown.

“We had a lot of customers ask us to move to Milford,” commented Akogolo. “Since here, all of our local customers have treated us well and we keep growing.”

Pizza Palce serves italian cuisine including pasta, pizza and sandwiches. Their menu also consists of seafood entrees, steak dinners, and “country cooking” such as chicken and dumplings. The reason for the new renovations including stone work on the dining room walls and wooden floors throughout the restaurant, came from a desire by Akogolo to continue the comfortable atmosphere that he has created over the last three years.

“I want our customers to feel like they are home, a warm atmosphere where they can relax,” stated Akogolo. “We want the customer to be satisfied, it’s all about the customer.”

Moving into the fourth year, Akogolo says that the restaurant will feature a full bar including mixed drinks and spirits as he looks for additional ways to create more success.

“The goal is to continue to increase business,” said Akogolo. “We want to make it better than it has ever been. “
