1On the night of March 23, 2014, the Milford Police (Patrol Division) responded to a business in the double digit block of S. Walnut St. after receiving a report of a possible Armed Robbery. Upon arriving, officers made contact with the 35yo male victim and the 48 yo female victim. Police state that investigation at the scene revealed that a male subject, armed with a handgun walked up to the front door of the business and attempted to enter the business. The 35yo male victim observed the male subject armed with the handgun and ran to the door just prior to the male subject entering the business. The 35yo male victim then closed the door and locked it, forcing the male subject outside the business. The male subject pointed the handgun at both the 35yo male victim and the 48yo female victim before fleeing on foot. The Milford Police (Community Policing Division) K-9 officer and his canine partner (Eros) performed a track of the suspect(s) from the business which led to the front door of a residence in the 200 block of SE 2nd St.

Detectives (Criminal Division) secured a search warrant for the residence and later located and arrested a 17yo male. The 17yo male had outstanding warrants out of Kent County Family. Investigation revealed that the 17yo male, while in the company of another subject, identified as Jacob A. Morgan, 19yo of Milford, did attempt to rob the business. The 17yo male juvenile was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Aggravated Menacing (2 counts), Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Morgan, who later turned himself in to the Milford Police, was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Aggravated Menacing (2 counts), Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Neither victim was injured during this incident. Morgan was later arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $96,000 secured bond. Further investigation by detectives connected the 17yo male juvenile to several other robberies (listed below).

According to police, on the night of March 11, 2014 the 17yo male juvenile and a 16yo female juvenile called in a fake pizza delivery with Dominos Pizza. As the delivery driver (23yo male victim) arrived at a residence in the 500 block of SE Front St., the two brandished a handgun. The two removed money and the pizza from delivery driver and then fled the area. The delivery driver was not injured in this incident. The 17yo male juvenile was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Detectives have active warrants for the arrest of the 16yo female juvenile (name being withheld due to age of suspect).

During the early morning hours of March 2, 2014 the Milford Police responded to Walmart Department store after receiving a report of two separate robberies. Upon arriving, Milford Police made contact with the 49yo male victim (1st robbery) and the 56yo female victim (2nd robbery). Investigation revealed that the 17yo male juvenile and other suspects approached the 49yo male victim in Walmart Parking Lot and threatened the use of a handgun if the victim did not give them money. The 17yo male juvenile and the suspect(s) obtained money from the 49yo male victim. Just minutes later the 17yo male juvenile and the suspect(s) approached a 56yo female victim, also in the parking lot. The 56yo female victim was placing merchandise in her vehicle when she was punched in the face and held down while the 17yo male juvenile and the other suspect(s) removed money and personal items from her and her vehicle. The 17yo male juvenile and other suspect(s) fled on foot. The 56yo female victim suffered minor injuries to the face but refused medical treatment. The 17yo male juvenile was charged with Robbery 1st Degree (2 counts), Conspiracy 2nd Degree (2 counts), Burglary 2nd Degree and Assault 3rd Degree.

During the early morning hours of March 3, 2014 the Milford Police responded to the Walmart Department Store parking lot after receiving a report of two separate attempted robberies that just occurred. Upon arriving, Police made contact with the 20yo female victim & the 18yo female victim and then the 80yo male victim. Police state that detectives discovered that the 17yo male juvenile and other suspect(s) approached the 20yo female victim & the 18yo female victim, who were walking together, while in the Walmart parking lot. The 17yo male juvenile and other suspect(s) threatened the use of a handgun but did not obtain any money or property from the victims. Both victims then fled inside Walmart Department store to call the police. Neither victim was injured. The 17yo male juvenile was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony and Aggravated Menacing Minutes later the 17yo male juvenile and other suspect(s) then approached the 80yo male victim in the parking lot. The 17yo male juvenile and other suspect(s) were unsuccessful in obtaining any money or property and all fled on foot. The victim was not injured during this incident. The 17yo male juvenile was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree victim 62yo or older, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony and Aggravated Menacing.

The 17yo male juvenile was committed to Stevenson Center on all the above charges in default of a cash bond (bond amount not available at the time of this release). The aforementioned arrests for multiple armed robberies, etc was a collective multi- divisional effort within the Milford Police Department involving the Criminal Division, Patrol Division and the K-9 Division within the Community Policing Division. This continues to be an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Division.
