On Monday, March 24, Milford Chief of Police Keith Hudson introduced city council members to two new recruits who have joined the Milford Police Department. Both officers have recently graduated from the Delaware State Police Academy.

Danielle Allman, who is a native of New Jersey and now lives in Millsboro, said she has always wanted to be a police officer. Several of her cousins were in law enforcement and her grandfather was a firefighter. She has never worked in law enforcement before.

“I enjoy being able to help people,” Officer Allman said. “I like being out in the community and providing aid when people need it.”

Mikhail Stanton, who was raised in Dagsboro and also now lives in Millsboro, said he became interested in Criminal Justice while he was in high school and agrees with Officer Allman that being able to help people is one of the reasons he went into law enforcement.

“We haven’t really had to deal with bad situations yet,” Officer Stanton said. “I think the worst would be showing up to a scene and finding someone who had passed who was really messed up.” Officer Stanton says he wants to work his way into a drug unit with the police department, while Officer Allman said she hopes to become a detective someday.

“We welcome you to Milford and are very happy to have you here protecting our city,” said Mayor Ronnie Rogers after the two officers were introduced. “We wish you the best in your law enforcement career.
