Criminal Mischief Under $1000

5Criminal Mischief Under $1000 (12 counts) and Theft by False Pretense Under $1500 (7 counts).

On the evening of Apeil, 15, 2014, the Milford Police Criminal Division arrested and charged a 42yo Dover man in connection with multiple tire slashings from March 20, 2014 thru April 7, 2014. Morris L Simms III was charged with Criminal Mischief Under $1000 (12 counts) and Theft by False Pretense Under $1500 (7 counts). Detectives state that they discovered that Simms would frequent the Ruby Tuesday, Walmart, Burger King, Dollar Tree and Milford Diner parking lots on foot. While traveling thru the parking lots Simms would slash tires of unoccupied parked vehicles, wait for the victims to arrive back at their vehicles, and then Simms would offer and sometimes render help in exchange for a fee. Simms slashed the tires of 12 different victims. Simms was apprehended on April 15,2014 by the Dover Police for an unrelated incident and turned over to the custody of the Milford Police. Simms was arraigned thru JP3 and committed to SCI in default of $1300 secured bond.
