2The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is currently investigating a serious pedestrian crash that occurred just after midnight.

Detectives assigned to CRU were requested by the Milford Police Department to assist in the investigation after a 2013 Nissan Altima being operated by Rossini I. Yen, 30 of Astoria, NY was traveling southbound in the left lane of North DuPont Boulevard (US113) in front of the McDonalds. At the same time, George F. Henderson, 60 of Milford, was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by the front left corner of the car and thrown onto the east side of the roadway.

George Henderson was transported by EMS to Milford Memorial Hospital where was admitted in critical condition. George F. Henderson, 60 of Milford, died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash that occurred just after midnight.

Rossini Yen, who was properly restrained, was not injured in the crash.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Police state that alcohol, and a combination of dark clothing and not crossing in a designated crosswalk, may have been contributing factors on behalf of the pedestrian. Southbound US113 in the area of the collision was closed for approximately two and a half hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
