File Photo.On July 12, 2014 at 8:39pm the Carlisle Fire Company responded to an automatic fire alarm activation at the West Clarke Avenue complex. Upon arrival of fire department units it was determined that a sprinkler head in the automatic fire suppression system had broken off in a room that had various chemicals inside. DNREC and the Little Creek Fire Company for their Decontamination Unit was notified to respond as a precaution if any of the chemicals reacted with contact with water. Carlisle Fire personnel along with the DNREC units worked closely with the response team from LD Caulk to determine the scene was safe and no reaction was found. FD units found no immediate threat was found and no residential evactuation was needed. FD Units were on scene for approximately two hours before clearing.
