On Thursday, July 24, Bayhealth announced the opening of Bayhealth Endocrinology, Milford located at 800 N. DuPont Blvd., Milford. Fellowship-trained endocrinologist Kristine Parker, MD, will see patients in the location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The practice in now accepting new patients.The practice is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians, their clinical staff, and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware.

“We are excited to open this new practice and also welcome Dr. Parker to the Bayhealth Medical Group,” said Ernest Lemoi, Administrator, Bayhealth Medical Group. “The addition of this practice will benefit the residents of Milford and the surrounding areas where there is a large gap between the numbers of physicians in relation to the number of residents who live in the area. To help close the gap, we work every day to attract highly educated and well-trained physicians to the area – physicians like Dr. Parker.”

Dr. Parker is specialty trained to diagnose and treat diseases that affect the glands, hormones and endocrine system. She often treats people with diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and metabolic and lipid disorders.

“I partner with each of my patients to develop the best treatment plan possible,” said Dr. Parker. “When patients are involved in their own care, and understand the reasons behind a particular treatment plan, they are more likely to stick with the plan.”

Dr. Parker earned her bachelor’s degree with distinction, Summa Cum Laude, from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, in 2002. She earned her medical degree from the University of The West Indies, in Nassau, Bahamas in 2007. Dr. Parker holds an American Board of Internal Medicine certification and is board eligible for endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American College of Physicians, Endocrine Society, and International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
