dspDelaware State Police are currently investigating a two vehicle crash involving a school bus which occurred on September 26, 2014.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred this afternoon, Friday, September 26, 2014, at approximately 3:20 p.m., as Brenda J. Stanton, 74, of Milford, DE, was operating a 2000 Honda Accord and was traveling northbound on Bay Road just south of Thompsonville Road in Milford. Stanton failed to see that a 2009 school bus being operated by Jeanette A. Drummond, 34, of Milford, DE, was stopping directly in front of her. The front of Stanton’s vehicle then struck the rear of the school bus.

Brenda Stanton was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her minor injuries. She was cited by troopers with Inattentive Driving. There were fifteen children on the school bus owned by the Milford Academy at the time of the crash. One 11 year old female student was removed from the scene and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. One lane of Bay Road was closed for approximately one hour as the crash was investigated and cleared.
