Assault Investigation With Arrest

3On September 29,2014 at approximately 1:54 pm officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the Milford Bypass, north of Carpenters Pit Road (Kent County), to a report of an altercation occurring in a moving vehicle. Police state that investigation revealed Blake Love, 23 of Columbia, PA, and a 19 year old passenger were engaged in a verbal dispute as the vehicle was proceeding northbound on Milford Bypass (SR 1). The passenger reportedly asked Mr. Love to stop the vehicle so they could exit, but Mr. Love reportedly refused. Witnesses later observed the passenger exit the vehicle as it was moving in what appeared to be a violent manner. The passenger was transported by Delaware State Police Aviation to Christiana Hospital for treatment of serious, but non life threatening injuries. Mr. Love has been charged with Assault 1st degree, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree, Malicious Interference w/ Emergency Communications, and Criminal Mischief. Mr. Love was presented at JP Court #2 in Rehoboth Beach, where bail was set at $28,000.00 secured. Mr. Love has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.
