The Jefferson School a non-sectarian, independent day school in Georgetown has received over $9,000 as the beneficiary of the first annual i.g. Burton Charity Golf Classic held recently at the Rookery North. According to president and owner of i.g. Burton and Company, Charlie Burton, “I’m very happy and thankful for the response we had from local golfers and all of our sponsors for our first tournament. It takes a lot to put one of these on and we had many people rise to the occasion to help us out. The Jefferson School is very worthy recipient and we look forward to helping out another non-profit next year. If there’s one golf tournament you are going to play in, this is the one. We have set our minds on making it the best tournament in the area every year. We want to raise a lot of money at the same time we have a lot of fun.”

Nearly 120 golfers participated in the event which was sponsored by CHASE Bank, Davis Bowen and Friedel, L&W Insurance, Del One, Lyons Insurance, Kelly Blue Book/Autotrader, Fannin Family, Wells Fargo, Reading Body Company, BSC Auctions, Nanticoke Hospital Medical Group, Abbotts Grille, KSI Cartridge Group, Lank Johnson and Tull, Sniper Putters, Bently Trucks, PPC Lubricants, Fisher/Federated Auto Parts, Kayfield Company, BG products, B&L Sales, Tucker Industries, and Troops BBQ.
