St. John’s German Oktoberfest was held on Friday, October 3 and continued on Saturday, October 4. The festivities were kicked off on Friday evening with live music from local favorites The Funsters as event goers celebrated European cultures through live entertainment, food and fun. On Saturday the festivities included arts and crafts, a white elephant gift exchange, helicopter rides, over 100 homemade desserts, and entertainment throughout the day. Kids will be able to enjoy inflatable games including a slide, moon walk, and obstacle course. A petting zoo and pony rides were open for children to enjoy as well. The Milford Community Band entertained guests on Saturday morning followed by the internationally renowned, Joe Kroboth German Orchestra. The Enzian German Dancers and the McAleer School of Irish Dancing also performed. In addition this year’s St. John’s Church had their own Spanish Band, Fuuego Santo (Holy Fire), along with a Spanish Dance Group. On Saturday evening to wrap up the weekend festivities, OH BOY!, a Buddy Holly Tribute band, took main stage.
