Troopers Investigate a Shooting and Assault at a Lincoln Residence

Delaware State Troopers are investigating an incident where two people were taken to an area hospital for injuries they sustained during a large house party in Lincoln. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. Saturday November 15, 2014 when troopers responded to a residence located at 8819 Cedar Creek Road after a report of shots being fired. Police state that upon arrival, a large crowd was observed by troopers and officers from Milford Police Department assisted with dispersing the mass and the shutting down the party.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. another call was made to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center (9-1-1) stating a subject was injured in a fight that occurred at the residence and was just down the road from the house in a private vehicle. Emergency Medical Services responded to the area and transported a 23 year old male to Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. His treatment status and disposition is unknown.

While troopers were at the hospital investigating the assault, a 20 year old male was dropped off at the emergency room by private vehicle for a single gunshot wound to the lower extremity. It was determined through interviews with the victim that he was also at the residence on Cedar Creek Road and was inside the house when he was shot by an unknown suspect. His treatment status and disposition is unknown.

At this time, there are no suspects or descriptions in either case.

Around 11:55 p.m. troopers also responded to a large crowd that gathered at the Royal Farms located at 16979 Beach Highway, Ellendale. It was reported that the patrons were inside damaging goods and throwing food items about the store. The crowd was eventually dispersed and the store was closed while they cleaned up the debris inside. No video surveillance is available for release at this time.
