Theft by False Pretense over $1500 and Issuing a Bad Check under $1500

On February 3, 2015 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 36yo Dover woman in connection with an incident that occurred at Aaron’s Sales and Lease on January 7, 2015. Shanita L. Foster was charged with Theft by False Pretense over $1500 and Issuing a Bad Check under $1500. Police state that investigation revealed that Foster entered into a lease agreement with Aaron’s for household furniture and other items worth over $7,100.00. Foster issued a personal check to Aaron’s for a down payment on the merchandise. It was discovered that the personal check was written on a closed account. As Aaron’s attempted to collect the merchandise back from Foster, they were told by Foster that all the merchandise was stolen. Police later discovered that the merchandise had not been stolen but had been sold by Foster. Foster was arraigned and released on $2,000.00 unsecured bond.
