One of the benefits of winning your division in the Henlopen conference is getting the chance to play in the the conference title game. This past Friday the girls traveled to Dover to do battle with the Henlopen North champions. It is an opportunity to win a trophy but more importantly it is a valuable tool to get ready for the playoffs.
While the boys game was a thriller, the Lady Buccaneers match up against 17-3 Sussex Central was tough to take. Milford came out flat and stayed that way, it was a game much similar to the Woodbridge affair just a few weeks ago. The result was an ugly 74-32 defeat that Milford will have to get over with the tournament starting this Tuesday.
“This was a game where we couldn’t get anything going, not on offense or defense,” coach Leona White said. “We have had to bounce back before, so I know our girls will be ready for Tuesday.”
Milford is seeded 14th and will host 19th seeded William Penn this Tuesday. The game will tip at 7 pm.
