The Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor Mumford and Miller Concrete Inc., has begun construction for the Route 1, Thompsonville Grade Separated Intersection. Beginning on Wednesday, April 15 through Saturday, April 18 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., the contractor will be clearing and grubbing the south side of Route 1. Motorists should anticipate intermittent lane and shoulder closures on Route 1 southbound between Cicada Lane and Tub Mill Pond Road near Milford.

This project includes the construction of a grade-separated intersection at Route 1 and Thompsonville Road. Thompsonville Road will be extended to the intersection of Tub Mill Road and Church Hill Road. The project will also include the removal of the existing traffic signal at the Thompsonville intersection and the removal of median crossovers in the immediate vicinity.

Motorists should drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
