Hosting a Grand Reopening just last year, owner Steve Akoglo has continued to add more to the dining experience. A total overhaul of the inside of the restaurant began in 2012 as new wood floors replaced carpet and stone accents have been added to the walls. In addition to adding a full bar for seven days a week, Pizza Palace will now offer an outside dining area, expanding their seating to over 300 patrons.

With over 30 years of experience in the restaurant business, Steve Akoglo has been busy since 2009, creating a new image for the business, remodeling the inside of the building and retraining staff. Beginning his sixth year in business in Milford, Steve is looking forward to many more successful years serving the town. In addition to owning Milford Pizza Palace, Akoglo is partner of restaurants in Georgetown, DE including Georgetown Family Restaurant and Georgetown Pizza Palace. His decision to expand to the Milford area years ago came from the desire of his customers in Georgetown.

“We had a lot of customers ask us to move to Milford,” commented Akogolo. “Since here, all of our local customers have treated us well and we keep growing.”

Akoglo  stresses that Pizza Palace in Milford is much more than a pizza joint. Although Pizza Palace serves italian cuisine including pasta, pizza and sandwiches, their menu also consists of seafood entrees, steak dinners, and “country cooking” such as chicken and dumplings. The reason for the new renovations including stone work on the dining room walls and wooden floors throughout the restaurant, came from a desire by Akogolo to continue the comfortable atmosphere that he has created over the last several years.

“I want our customers to feel like they are home, a warm atmosphere where they can relax,” stated Akogolo. “We want the customer to be satisfied, it’s all about the customer.”

Moving into the sixth year, Akogolo says that the restaurant features a full bar and he  looks forward to opening the outside seating area. These two features will help Pizza Palace to expand their catering services on site as they encourage private dining for occasions such as weddings, retirements and professional meetings.

“The goal is to continue give the best service and the best quality,” said Akogolo. “We are like a family here, not a franchise. I personally try to talk with all of our customers and our staff knows what they want to drink and eat before the walk in the door.”
