Charged with Assaulting Pregnant Female

On May 24, 2015 the Milford Police arrested and charged a Joseph W. Prouse, 22yo of Milford, stemming from a domestic incident that occurred in the parking lot of a business located in the double digit block of S. Walnut St on May 23, 2015. Prouse was charged with Assault 2nd Degree of a Pregnant Female, Aggravated Menacing, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony and Terroristic Threatening. On the morning of May 24, 2015, Milford Police responded to Milford Bayhealth Hospital after receiving a report of an injured female victim. Police state that officers later discovered that the female victim was pregnant and had been assaulted by Prouse on the evening of May 23, 2015 during a verbal dispute. According to police, an investigation revealed that Prouse arrived in the parking lot of the business on the evening of May 23, 2015 and made contact with the female victim. A verbal dispute began and Prouse displayed a knife and threatened to kill the female victim. Prouse bit the female victim on her arm and grabbed her by her hair shoving her into a vehicle. Prouse then fled the scene. The female victim was treated for minor injuries and released. Prouse was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $6,300 secured bond.
