On May 24, 2015 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 60yo Georgetown man stemming from an incident that occurred at the Walmart Department Store at approx. 6:00pm. Henderson Watson was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing (2 counts), Possession of Shoplifting Tools, Possession of Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief Under $1000. Milford Police responded to Walmart after receiving a report of a robbery that just occurred. According to police, an investigation revealed that Watson was attempting to exit the store with merchandise that he did not purchase. Watson was then approached by Walmart Department Store Asset Protection about not purchasing the merchandise. Watson then motioned as if he had a weapon under his shirt and threatened the Asset Protection staff, advising them to back up. Under the belief that Watson was armed the Asset Protection staff backed away. Watson then fled on foot. Milford Police Patrol Division, Criminal Division and K-9 Division searched for Watson. Watson was later found by Milford Police K-9 hiding in bushes in a nearby field. Watson then refused to obey commands from Milford Police and refused to surrender from where he was attempting to hide. Watson was then subdued by the Milford Police K-9. Watson was found to be in possession of the merchandise from Walmart and two knives. Watson was transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital were he was treated for injuries from the K-9 apprehension and later released. Watson was arraigned and released on $65,500.00 unsecured bond.
