Georgia man charged for stealing motor vehicle

On July 1, 2015 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 29yo Moultrie, Georgia man stemming from incidents that occurred on July 1, 2015 at a local auto business located in the 900 block of N. Walnut St. and also in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store. Brent D. Dahler was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Theft Under $1500. According to police, investigation revealed that Dahler stole a motor vehicle from off of the lot of the auto business on the morning of July 1, 2015. Later in the afternoon of July 1, 2015, Dahler returned to the area operating the stolen motor vehicle. Dahler searched for a similar vehicle that matched stolen vehicle in order to steal the registration plate from the vehicle and place it on the stolen vehicle. Dahler located such a vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store. Dahler removed the registration plate from that vehicle and then fled the area. Milford Police later apprehended Dahler, without incident, as he attempted to put gas in the stolen motor vehicle at a nearby gas station. Dahler was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $3,000.00 secured bond.
