On July 12, 2015 the Milford Police Department arrested and charged a 34yo Milford man stemming from a domestic assault that occurred at a residence located in Brightway Commons Apartment Complex on the afternoon of July 12, 2015. Jose De Jesus Salazar-Ortiz was charged with Assault 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangering 2nd Degree, Terroristic Threatening and Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications. Police state that investigation revealed that Salazar-Ortiz was involved in a verbal dispute with the 45yo female victim as she attempted to prevent Salazar-Ortiz from driving a vehicle while intoxicated. As the female victim removed the vehicle keys from Salazar-Ortiz’s possession, Salazar-Ortiz pushed the female victim down a flight of stairs. Salazar-Ortiz then began to throw shoes and other items at the female victim as she laid on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. The female victim attempted to contact the Milford Police but as she did so Salazar-Ortiz took the female victim’s phone from her. Salazar-Ortiz then told the female victim that he would kill her if she contacted the police. The female victim suffered minor injuries to the head, neck and back, however refused medical treatment. Salazar-Ortiz was arraigned and released on $1,750.00 unsecured bond.
