County Bank is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in a unique manner. The bank was founded in Rehoboth Beach on July 9, 1990 and is still locally owned and operated. The bank has a strong sense of community, having provided elementary schools in Milford with “Teach the Children to Save” programs as well as sponsoring teams through the Milford Little League.

“Since its inceptions, County Bank’s primary mission has been to serve the banking needs of southern Delaware,” said Jason Moshier, Marketing and Public Relations Officer of the bank. “In celebration of this milestone, we are giving back to the community.” Grants totaling $10,000 will be awarded to local organizations including the Sussex Family YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Orchard, Milford Housing Development Corporation, Millville Fire Department, Georgetown Boys & Girls Club, Meals on Wheels in Lewes-Rehoboth and the Milton Historical Society.

In addition to the grants, County Bank employees will volunteer with Milford Housing Development Corporation. Employees will also volunteer at their local churches, youth sports organizations, charitable groups and civic organizations. The bank held a Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, July 10 during normal business hours at all branches.

The bank was originally founded to meet the needs of small to mid-sized businesses in southern Delaware but has also grown a strong consumer portfolio over the past 25 years. The first full-service branch opened in Rehoboth where the corporate headquarters is now located. A second branch opened in 1991 in Millsboro and the third in Milford. Branches in Millville, Georgetown, Lewes and Milton followed with the Milton location opening in 2004.

“We are especially proud of the Milford location,” Mr. Moshier said. “As of June 30, an FDIC report showed that our deposits are third in market share in the 19963 zip code and we are ranked first in deposits among community banks in Milford. We have a significant presence in Milford and I think this is due to our commitment to the community and great people.”  The County Bank branch in Milford is located at 100 East Masten Circle in Milford, which provides the bank with a presence in both Kent and Sussex County.

“People who bank with us know that their hard-earned deposits are reinvested right here, in Southern Delaware,” he said. “Our slogan is more than just a saying. We truly do have roots here, not just branches.”
