Detectives Make Arrest in Shore Stop Robbery

The Delaware State Police Detectives have arrested a Frederica man in connection with an October 2nd robbery of a Milford area gas station.

The incident occurred approximately 7:10 p.m., Friday October 2, 2015 at the Shore Stop located at 1885 Bay Road, as a male subject entered the business and confronted a female employee behind the counter. The male asked for a pack of cigarettes and when the clerk opened the cash drawer to make change, the suspect implied he had a weapon but never displayed it, and demanded the cash. The female victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled out of the rear doors toward Cicada Lane. The female clerk was not injured in this incident.

Through further investigative interviews and tips received through the public, detectives were able to positively identify Justin R. McGaha, 31 of Frederica, as the suspect in this robbery as well as another that was committed in Harrington Police Department’s jurisdiction. On Tuesday October 6, 2015 troopers and officers from Harrington PD conducting a search warrant at McGaha’s residence located in the unit block of Hillside Avenue, Frederica, and located numerous items including clothing that was used in the commission of the robberies. McGaha was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Trooper 3 where he was charged with Robbery 1st. He was arraigned at JP7 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $30,000.00 cash bond.
