XCC Takes Home Henlopen South Title

The Milford Cross Country Boys and Girls team both took home the Henlopen South Divisional Trophies on Saturday, November 7 at the Killens Pond Henlopen Conference. Head Coach Bobby Spath also took home the Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year Award with help from Coach Lance Skinner, Coach Erick Cisneros and Coach Jacquelyn Powers.

Milford Girls’ three finishers in the top 15 at the conference included Deja Rodriguez Santiago who took second overall in the conference with a time of 20:31 and finished first overall in the girls race at the Kent County Championships last Tuesday with a time of 20:37. Rajene Bowe took fourth overall in the conference Saturday with a time of 20:50. Rajene also placed second overall in the Kent County Championship Tuesday with a time of 20:45. Emily Holstein took eleventh overall at the conference with a time of 21:32. Emily also placed seventh in the Kent County Championships on Tuesday with a time of 21:30.

Janssen Pacarro, senior boys captian took an honorable mention at the conference tournament and had a finishing time of 18:56 finishing second overall for Milford Boys. Freshman Ben Sobota stole the spotlight for Milford Boys on saturday finishing first for Milford with an 18:30.

The Milford boys and girls varsity seven will now advance to the state tournament next weekend for their final race of the season at Killens Pond Saturday, November 14.
