Stealing Purse from Elderly Shopper

On November 12, 2015 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 36yo Lincoln woman stemming from an incident that occurred Redner’s Grocery Market on November 8, 2015. Tara J. Leyanna was charged with Felony Theft Under $1500 Victim is 62yo Or Older. Police state that investigation revealed that the Leyanna was shopping in the grocery store at the same time as the 88yo female victim. The 88yo female victim was utilizing a motorized shopping cart. The 88yo female victim stopped the motorized cart and exited it in order to get a closer look at the merchandise. Leyanna walked over to the female victim’s motorized cart and removed her purse from the cart. Leyanna was later confronted by Redner’s management and they retrieved the purse from her. However, Leyanna had already removed the victim’s money from the purse before being confronted by Redner’s management. Leyanna was arraigned and released on $1,000.00 unsecured bond.
