Attempted Robbery and Stabbing Incident

On November 29, 2015 the Milford Police Criminal Division arrested and charged a 30yo Milford man stemming from an incident that occurred at a residence located in the 800 block of S. Walnut St. Robert D. Wilhelm Jr. was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Police state that dDetectives discovered that Wilhelm went to the residence of the 58yo male victim on the night of November 29, 2015. While there, Wilhelm and an unknown male demanded money from the victim as they threw him to the floor and began kicking him. The victim attempted to fight back and refused to provide money to Wilhelm and the unknown male. During the assault, Wilhelm brandished a large knife and stabbed the victim in the torso, neck and face. Both Wilhelm and the unknown male then fled the residence on foot. The Milford Police K9 Division was able to track and positively locate Wilhelm nearby at Mispillion Apartment Complex shortly after the incident. The victim was transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital initially but was later transported and admitted to Christiana Care Hospital. The victim is listed in stable condition, suffering non-life threatening injuries to the face, neck, torso and head. Wilhelm was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $154,000.00 secured bond. This incident remains under investigation.
