Charged with Unlawful Imprisonment

On December 3, 2015 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence in the 600 block of Lakelawn Drive (Sussex County) after receiving a report that an elderly female had been locked in a bedroom in the residence. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim, who had been freed from the bedroom by a witness in the home. Police state that investigation revealed Charles W. Robinson, 49 of Milford, locked the victim in a bedroom, knowing the victim was not capable of unlocking the door. A witness in the home freed the victim from the bedroom and contacted police. Mr. Robinson was taken into custody and transported to the Milford Police Department. While in a holding area within the department, Mr. Robinson damaged a portion of the holding area. Mr. Robinson was charged with Unlawful Imprisonment 1st degree and Criminal Mischief Under $1000.00. Mr. Robinson was presented at JP Court #2, where bail was set at $3000.00 cash and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim.. Mr. Robinson was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post bail. Mr. Robinson will be scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas later this month.
