On Friday, December 4 historic downtown Milford celebrated an old-fashioned yuletide season with the 10th Annual Holiday Stroll. A tradition started by Downtown Milford Inc., an organization aimed at promoting and revitalizing downtown Milford, the evening highlighted downtown downtown businesses, restaurants and the local arts community as families walked Walnut street entertained by the live entertainment including the Christmas Carol Band, a barbershop quartet and even Santa Claus himself.
As in past years the downtown area was blocked off to vehicle traffic as families strolled the decorated five-block downtown district with holiday trimmed store windows. New businesses and locations that were featured included Blu Butterfly Studio, Dorey Insurance & Financial Service, Panificio di Canevari Italian Bakery and Petite Sweets,. Restaurants and pubs including Abbott’s Grill, Arena’s Deli & Bar, Dolce Bakery and Coffee Shop, Georgia House, Longshots Sports Bar & Billiards, Milford Tavern and Park Place Restaurant & Lounge were open while shops including Blooming Boutique, Delaware Tang Soo Do Academy, Downtown Barber Shop, Elegant Designs, Good News Natural Foods, Irish Rose, It’s All About Time Clock Shop Milford Gifts, Milford Florists, Milford Skating Center, Riverside Antique Mall and Sling With Me featured holiday specials. The Milford art scene was also represented as Gallery 37, Live Cheap & Make Art Studios, Mispillion Art League, The Music School of Delaware and Riverfront Theatre were open, welcoming families to enjoy entertainment. The Causey Mansion B&B, City of Milford Customer Service Center, First Presbyterian Church, Milford City Hall and the Milford Museum were also open with entertainment and holiday goodies.
