DDC Performs 17th Season of Nutcracker

Diamond Dance Company (DDC), nominated for the 2014 Broadway World DE awards in Best New Work, Best Choreography (winner), Best Costume Design, Best Set Design, and Best Community Theater Group performed its 17th season with The Nutcracker Ballet on December 5 and December 6 at Milford High School. This season DDC announced the addition of professional dancers Mary Kate Reynolds in the role of Sugar Plum Fairy, Justin Estelle as The Prince, and Jake Nowicki as The Cavalier. All three professional dancers perform with First State Ballet Theater, Delaware’s professional ballet company in Wilmington, DE.
In addition to the professional team of dancers, DDC dancers from both Kent and Sussex counties performed in the production. Students from the Tatiana Akinfieva Dance Academy in Milford and En Pointe Dance Studio in Camden were highlighted in the cast of The Nutcracker. Lead dancers for this year’s Nutcracker included Emma Moorman and Ellie Hardee as Clara, Thomas Vasquez as Fritz, Rebecca Lane and Lily Wagner as The Mouse King, Isla Warren as the Baby Mouse, Andrea Errico and Brittany Poore as Snow Queen, Ariana Knowles and Juliana Warnock as Dream Fairy, Cami Lord as Spanish, Aidan Robbins as Chinese, Courtney Seaman and Alayna Gumpman as Russian, Jillian Kerr as Reed Flute, Mackenzie Dee as Lead Candy Cane, and Jillian Wilkins and Taylor Kimmey as Dew Drop.
