On January 22, 2016 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 21yo homeless man in connection with Burglaries at the Goodwill Store and Mama Maria’s restaurant (Milford Shopping Plaza) on the night of January 22, 2016. Steven Moran was charged with Possession of Firearm or Ammunition By Person Prohibited, Burglary 3rd Degree (2 counts), Possession of Burglary Tools, Criminal Mischief Over $1000 but Under $5000 and Criminal Mischief Under $1000. Police state that at approx. 11:19 pm the Milford Police were checking local businesses after receiving burglar alarm activation calls. Upon checking the Goodwill Store, officers could here banging from inside the store. The Milford Police K-9 officer and his K-9 were checking the business front exterior when the K-9 Officer observed Moran inside the store. Moran then fled on foot out of the rear of the store. The K-9 then tracked Moran to the area of the foot bridge located on Truitt Ave. Moran was then taken into custody. It was later discovered that Moran broken into Mama Maria’s restaurant in addition to the Goodwill Store. Moran was also in possession of shotgun ammunition and a hatchet at the time of his arrest. Moran was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $20,000.00 secured bond.
