Papale Speaker at MHS Freshman Expo

45Milford High School (MHS) is hosting its second annual Freshman Expo on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 6:00PM in the High School Auditorium. This event is for all students in Sussex or Kent County interested in attending Milford High School in the 2016-17 school year.

An inspirational message from Eagles legend Mr. Vincent “Invincible” Papale, whoselife story was made into the movie Invincible. Mr. Papale will focus on perseverance and grit that it takes to be successful in all aspects of life. After Mr. Papale’s message, students and parents will have the opportunity to speak with teachers, coaches, and club advisors about the wonderful
opportunities at Milford High School. In small groups, students and parents will receive information about the new and current programs offered at Milford High School including our world class Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Honors Program, which boasts over 20 courses. Students in these programs can complete up to 30 college credits in their high school
career. Students and parents will also be able to talk to our Career and Technical Education staff about the many career pathways available at MHS including, but not limited to, Allied Health, Computer Science, Construction Technology, Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Accounting and Marketing, and Animal Science.

In addition to the academic opportunities available at MHS, students can also meet with coaches and club advisors to discuss the many extracurricular opportunities available. From the two-time state champion wrestling team to the defending Henlopen South boys’ and girls’ basketball teams to the returning state champion tennis team, Milford High School competes at a high level across the state. Members of the Music, Theater, and Art department will be available to explain the wonderful opportunities in
the Arts at MHS. Drama club students will present a scene from the upcoming musical The Music Man as well.
