Step Back in Time to the Roaring 20’s

22Staff Report

The Milford Historical Preservation Committee and the Milford Museum have announced the 2nd Annual Roaring 20’s Lawn Party at Causey Mansion which will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 5 to 9 PM. The event will allow guests to step back to a time when speakeasy’s were the only way to enjoy a nip of alcohol and gangsters ruled the news.

“We are currently seeking sponsorships for the event in order to maximize the grant fund we are trying to build that will allow us to help homeowners make façade repairs to historic homes,” said Patti Persia, Chairperson of the Milford Historic Preservation Committee. “Proceeds from the event also support the Milford Museum, so sponsors will be helping out two very important organizations in Milford. The first event was a huge success and many people have asked about our next one. This is an opportunity to get your company name out there and support two worthwhile causes at the same time.”

The swing band The Recessionals will make a return appearance at the event as will several of the breweries and distilleries who provided tastings of their product at the first lawn party. In addition to beer and liquor tastings, guests will be able to sample foods that were popular in the 1920s and take part in a silent auction. Guests are asked to dress in period attire, although it is not required for attendance.

Tickets for the event are $45 per person and may be purchased online and at the Milford Museum. Other sales locations may be announced in the future. There are an extremely limited number of VIP tickets available which include early entrance to the event as well as a tour of the Causey Mansion prior to the start of the lawn party. The mansion will not be open to anyone who does not purchase a VIP ticket. Tickets go on sale on March 15, 2016.

There are various levels of sponsorship available, but all sponsors will receive recognition at the event, in all advertising, including social media and press releases. For more information on donations and sponsorships, businesses and individuals are asked to contact Patti Persia at 302-745-1790.
