Man, Woman charged after drug search

On February 18, 2016 the Milford Police Drugs and Narcotics Division concluded a month long investigation with the arrest of a 43yo Milford man and a 34yo Milford woman. Both Lanier L. Wheatherly and Lauren E. Merchant were charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession with the Intent to Deliver Heroin, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Police state that on February 18, 2016 the Milford Police, with the assistance of the Dover Police Drug Unit, executed search warrants on a vehicle and at a residence located in the 6000 block of Pine Tree Lane, Milford. Milford Police seized 86 bags of Heroin and 79.3 grams of Marijuana along with digital scales and over $2,400.00 in cash. An 11yo child had also been residing at the residence. Wheatherly was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $23,500.00 cash bond. Merchant was arraigned and committed to WCI in default of $23,500.00 cash bond.
