Charged with Robbery at Local Grocery Store


On March 14, 2016 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 25yo Milton man stemming from an incident that occurred at Redners Grocery Market. Christopher W. Farrell was charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and Offensive Touching. According to police, investigation revealed that on the afternoon of March 14, 2016, Farrell attempted to steal merchandise from the store without paying for it. As Farrell was exiting the store he was contacted by a store employee. In an attempt to flee with the merchandise, Farrell struck the employee in the face and then fled on foot. Milford Police searched the nearby wooded areas and neighborhoods for Farrell. Farrell was spotted by witnesses several times banging on doors of local residents and attempting to use their telephones. Milford Police responded to a nearby local business where Farrell was attempting to use the business phone. Farrell was taken into custody without incident. Farrell was also wanted by the Delaware State Police on vehicle theft arrest warrants and also had an active capias out of Kent County Superior Court. Farrell was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of a $6,500.00 secured bond.
