Coaches of the Delaware Tech cross country program are offering a training camp for middle school and high school runners. Camp sessions will be from 6-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays from June 13-July 28, with a full week of evening training August 1-5. Locations will vary to allow participants to run on a variety of cross country courses.

“The goal of this training camp is to help participants become stronger and reduce their chance of injury during the upcoming fall cross country season,” said Ray Parker, head coach of the Delaware Tech women’s cross country team.

Parker will be joined by assistants Karin Ryndak and Justin Stoeckel. All three were part of the coaching staff that guided the College’s men’s and women’s teams to second-place finishes in the 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Championship.

Registration is $225, which includes entry into a 5K race on July 2 as well as a camp T-shirt. Scholarships for military families (active duty and veterans) are available. For additional camp information, contact Ray Parker at (302) 632-1060 or email terry-xc@dtcc.edu. To register, call (302) 857-1400 or visit https://registration.xenegrade.com/dtccterry (course code ENU 151 630).

The training camp is being offered as part of the College’s Terry Campus Workforce Development and Community Education summer programing schedule. The division’s summer camp catalog is available online at go.dtcc.edu/DoverSummerCampSchedule.
