So yes i admit it i am a roller coaster junkie, I just simply love that thrill, They climb high, go fast, and induce screams, and the give my body and mind such a rush of excitement. Coasters today are designed to push our limits, Roller coaster designer teams spend years assembling ideas to give us a wild variety of thrill machines.
The next generation of coasters are what the designers are calling Hybrid rides that will meld steel and wooden coaster elements together into a Frankenstein’s monster mashup coaster. Launched coasters will forsake lift hills in favor of magnetic propulsion systems. There will be a hyper coaster that may cause hyperventilation, a dive coaster that will amp up riders’ anxiety levels to 11, and a ride that will send passengers hurtling into the fourth dimension.
As a Roller Coaster junkie reading these stories i get really excited, Some of the rides i would like to ride this year include The Joker at Six flags in New Jersey. After heading straight up a 12-story, 90-degree hill, this 4-D, free-fly coaster will flip you head-over-heels at least six times along with unexpected drops as you tumble from one level to the next. The wing seats amp up the pandemonium since you will experience all of this chaos with no track above or below makes this ride a must do this year.
Next on my list is Kingda Ka, This upside down U-shaped track bolts up 45 stories in the sky that’s 456 feet high which is totally insane to me and just typing about it excites me. You leave the station going from 0 to 128 miles per hour in a jaw-dropping 3.5 seconds, It’s 90° straight up. And once you get to the top you’ll be plummeting right back down in a 270-degree spiral, This one sounds like it’s not for the anyone who doesn’t like heights or crazy speeds.
And three rides i won’t get too this year but are on my list for next are all in Orlando. First – King Kong Reign of Kong. Just the description of this ride sounds cool, Enter the ruins of a primal realm and journey into the dark heart of an island filled with untold dangers. Vicious, ancient predators and unspeakable monstrosities rip into your crew and swarm from every side. Then, in an act of sheer ferocity—or monstrous bravery, King Kong charges between you and certain doom with an earthshaking fury. With each thundering roar and each chest-pounding thud, one colossal truth comes clear. This is his home, his kingdom. Only he reigns, I am already pumped after reading that.
Second – The Incredible Hulk. I have rode this ride many times and once with WWE legend Hulk Hogan, This has always been one of my favorite rides, It is currently closed for a major refit which includes making the ride bigger with new added track and the inside of the ride has had a complete overhaul too, I cannot wait to ride this beast again.
Third – Mako in Seaworld. The newest coaster to be built in Orlando, Mako opens on June 10th and from the videos it looks amazing. After leaving the station, the train makes a small right turn to a 200-foot lift hill and after reaching the top, the train begins to drop at a top speed of 73 miles per hour hen, the train makes a 125-foot tall turn before it goes to a 115-foot airtime hill. This ride will have 3 trains with 7 cars. Riders are arranged 4 across in a single row for a total of 28 riders per train.
So a little insight to my crazy roller coaster life, There are so many more new ones across the country but these three are on the top of my list. Happy coasting
