According to police, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Sunday May 22, 2016 at a residence in the 6000 block of Shawnee Road when two male subjects entered the front door wearing masks and armed with handguns. The suspects confronted a 21-year-old female as she was walking down the hallway into the living room where a 9-year-old male and 3-year-old male were watching television. The suspects continued past the three victims after ordering them to the floor and entered a bedroom where a 36-year-old male was lying in bed, while a 30-year-old female was in a nearby bathroom. Upon entering the bedroom, one of the suspects struck the male in the head with a handgun, and a physical altercation ensued between the two. The 30-year-old female was able to run to the living room to be with her two children while the male victim continued to fight with the two subjects. At one point, the three men, including the victim, made their way into the living room and then the kitchen area where the male victim grabbed a butcher knife and began stabbing one of the robbers numerous times after the suspect’s gun failed to fire. The two suspects continued to fight with the male victim until they finally fled from the residence with a backpack containing the male victim’s prescribed medication.
The male victim sustained a laceration to his head and was treated at a local hospital for his injury. None of the other victims were injured in the incident.
Around 10:30 p.m., Bayhealth Milford Memorial contacted the Emergency Operation Center (9-1-1) about a male subject that was dropped off by a relative at the Emergency Room with multiple stab wounds. Milford Police Department and troopers responded to the hospital and made contact with Willie R.
