Ariana Hinmon and Layna Reynolds of Mispillion Elementary in Milford, DE have been selected as Fuel Up To Play 60 State Ambassadors. As a State Ambassador, they will be trained in leadership, communication and program elements at the 2016 Student Ambassador Summit and go on to represent and drive the program in their school, community and state. They will also have the opportunity to meet with NFL players, as well as show off their creative healthy cooking skills.
“I feel really excited and blessed to have the chance to be State Ambassador,” said Hinmon. “I’m also very thankful to have this chance and to be able to experience this opportunity which is awesome. My goal is to be a better me and to be healthy, active and to be able to inspire others more after this program.”
“I hope to make new friends, have great leadership skills, and encourage others in my school and community to lead a healthier life by eating healthy and staying active,” said Reynolds. “My long term goals are to start FUTP60 at Milford Central Academy because FUTP60 is an amazing opportunity for all ages. I want to work with Ariana to achieve all of our goals together.”
This years Summit will take place at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and practices will be held at Indiana Farm Bureau Home of the Indianapolis Colts from July 25-28. Since August 2014 Mispillion Elementary has made the commitment to encourage students to make healthy choices and remain active through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
