Visit the Milford Public Library located at 11 S. E. Front St. on the Riverwalk adjacent to Library Square Park. Just browse or check out books, magazines, DVD’s, CD’s, audiobooks, kits, materials in Spanish. . .and more. Use your own laptop, tablet or notebook and take advantage of our WiFi, or, if you need the use of a computer, we have 23 public use computers. You can send a fax make photocopies or get documents notarized. Make sure to visit our fun, kid friendly children’s library. (milfordpubliclibrary.org)

This year the library is happy to announce the addition of YOUNG ADULT and ADULT summer reading programs, with prizes! Get in the Game, READ! the YA reading program is for teens ages 12-18. Read for 10 hours and receive a raffle ticket for the prize of your choice. Choose from gift cards, Ipod Shuffle, gift baskets and more. Raffle tickets are rewarded for every 10 hours of reading. Registration begins June 11.

Adults 18 and over are invited to Exercise your mind. READ! Read or listen to 5 books and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win gift cards, a Kindle, a quilt, and more. Registration begins June 11.

Mark your calendars for Music in the Park, 7p.m on Wednesdays in July: The Funsters—7/6; Sean Reilly—7/13; Oh Boy! (Tribute to Buddy Holly) – 7/20; Diamond Grove—7/27. There will be a special performance by the U.S. Army band, Down Range, on Thursday, 7/14.

SUMMER READING FOR CHILDREN ages one day—12 years begins on Kick Start Saturday, June 11. Register for summer reading and earn prizes for reading this summer. Join the field day fun from 10a.m.- noon. Register for summer reading, receive a sports bracelet and then try shooting baskets, kicking the ball into the soccer goal, pitch a strike, throw a javelin, try jumping rope, have a sports snack, and more.

Create cool crafts with us every Monday evening at 6:30p.m. Make sure to register for Make it Take it Monday, June 20. We will be decorating our own cloth sports bags. Hurry! While supplies last! There is no need to register for our other Make it Take it Mondays.

Join us for Story Hour at Abbott’s Mill! Help us celebrate the 35th anniversary of Abbott’s Mill Nature Center on Tuesday, June 7. We will have Story Hour and nature scavenger hunt at Abbott’s Mill. Meet Miss Robin and friends at the nature center at 10:30a.m. Join us at the library for Story Hour every Tuesday, excluding June 7, at 10:30a.m. On your mark, get set, READ!

Get ready for summer reading on 6/14. We went to Abbott’s Mill, now Abbott’s Mill will come to the library! Take a hike with Henry on 6/21 when Henry Hikes to Fitchburg , presented by Abbott’s Mill Nature Center. We’ll do a little fishing on 6/28.Join us for Toddler Time (Ages 1 & 2) every Thursday morning and enjoy songs, rhymes, puppets, crafts, fun and friends.Watch All Star Sports Day, with all your favorite story and cartoon characters, and Mickey’s SPORT-Y-THON on the BIG screen, 6/24.

ROLL AND READ! Join us on the track at the former Milford Middle School and make your own Clifford the BIG Red Dog. Ride along in a stroller or wagon or use your own steam and ride your bike, trike, skateboard or anything that rolls! (This is a community family event sponsored by the Delaware Early Childhood Center Parents as Teachers and New Directions Early Head Start Home Visiting Programs, as well as the First Start DE Childcare Partnership Program.)
