The Delaware Tech Terry Campus Adult Basic Education (ABE)/GED® program held an awards and recognition ceremony June 7, 2016 to celebrate student success. Among those acknowledged were 15 students who successfully earned their GED®-Secondary Credential from the Delaware Department of Education. Among those individuals were Rosemary Awomokorie, Jarrett Burke, Jeffery Caldwell, Joshua Diaz, Jayda Durham, Shawna Ebert, Ana Gomez and Iyana Morning.
Also included in the ceremony were presentations of 50 Citizenship Certificates; 106 Certificates of Achievement in Math, Reading or Writing; 32 OAASIS 100-Hour Awards and 18 certificates for enrollment in post-secondary education or training programs.
The ABE/GED® program provides quality instruction and support services to adult learners who have not attained high school proficiency levels, so they may improve academic skills, meet individual learner goals and become lifelong learners. Classes are offered in math, reading, writing, citizenship skills, social studies and science. The program also prepares adult learners to take the GED® Test.
There is no cost for registration, screening or classes, and the program is available to anyone at least 16 years old who has officially withdrawn from school. For additional information on the Terry Campus ABE/GED® program, individuals are asked to contact Amy Knight at (302) 857-1282 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
