Milford Housing Development Corporation (MHDC) completed the third and final duplex on NW 4th Street in Milford, Delaware and celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 13, 2016. Honored guests included City of Milford Mayor Bryan Shupe, City of Milford Manager Eric Norenberg, and Russ Huxtable Vice President of MHDC.

“The newly constructed duplexes on 4th Street in downtown Milford are another example of how Milford Housing Development Corporation understands that the value of homeownership benefits families most when quality construction and a focus on financial stability are part of the equation,” said Mayor Bryan Shupe. “The investment in the future of our local families is an essential part of continuing to grow the Milford community in a positive direction and the City of Milford is excited about the continued partnership with MHDC as we collectively offer more opportunities for more families.”

Russ Huxtable, Vice President of MHDC stated, “We feel it’s a great privilege to help working families achieve homeownership and this project will help someone’s dream come true who might not have thought possible.”

Each home has 3 bedrooms, all appliances, approximately 1440 square feet of living space, and built to Energy Star Standards. “Quality construction and dedicated staff is one way MHDC can help people achieve their dreams of homeownership. These homes will be affordable and energy efficient and we hope that provides stability and success to whoever calls this their home” Russ Huxtable stated.

The Milford Housing Development Corporation is a non-profit 501(c)3 with a Mission to help families of modest means secure safe and affordable housing. MHDC is always interested in talking with lenders and communities about similar projects; acquiring, repairing, renovating and reselling foreclosed properties to help families and meet their Mission. Individuals interested in an opportunity to be considered for this duplex that is located in Milford.

“MHDC staff would love to hear from families that may be interested. Your home is our mission.” Huxtable said.
